Sky View Camp

Nestled on the edge of the great Erg Chebbi dunes outside Merzouga, Sky View Camp is more than a place to sleep - it is a way to experience a real slice of desert life. Sky View Camp is family-run and rooted in local Amazigh desert culture, host Hassan and his team are welcoming and friendly, keen to share stories of traditional nomadic life while showing modern hospitality too. Inside the well-appointed tents are private bathrooms and air conditioning units; while outside each one has a terrace overlooking the endless dunes towards the Algerian border. The unique selling point of Sky View is the glass roofed tents which are designed to keep you in conversation with the desert, so you can spend a cosy night under vast and luminous skies staring at the constellations above.

The camp’s layout encourages communal gathering, shaded seating areas, an outdoor fireplace, sun traps and open space provide places to rest between desert excursions. Hassan encourages guests to meet and share stories which helps create a sense of shared experience. The after-dinner musical entertainment offers something special to guests, who after a while are allowed to join in and taught how to play along.
